The Feast of Mt. Carmel

It may take a miracle to celebrate our 98th year with a Feast this July.

We happen to believe in miracles.

Check back for news!

Every year thousands of families come to 155 Highland Avenue at 8th Street

in Verplanck, NY the third week of July
for this traditional Italian Festival.
We are known for our famous and delicious Sausage & Peppers wedges

"The Foodie Feast" as it's been called also serves pasta, pizza, zeppoli, cannoli, beer, wine and so much more.

The longest running Italian Feast in the Hudson Valley is also home of the

World's Largest Tarantella!

There are rides and games

and a vendor village.

With music every night on the corner of 8th

Street and Highland in Verplanck

there is always dancing in the street - including

"The Big Tarantella" Saturday night at 10.

Be a vendor at  our Feast of Mt. Carmel!

The Society of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel

in Verplanck has been creating community & preserving tradition since 1922!

We are a nonprofit civic organization established by a handful of immigrants from Calabria, Italy.

Many of those men came here to work

at the stone quarry and brick ovens

on the Hudson.

The Mt. Carmel Society has grown to a record 135 members with a vibrant

 ladies club,  active youth group

 and food pantry

The mission of the Society of Our Lady of Mount Carmel is to support our community through charity work and celebrate Italian traditions.

Throughout the year the Mt. Carmel Society holds several events;

a Doo Wop Night, Pasta Dinners,

Kids Day and the annual Italian Festival - always the third weekend in July.

The Society of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel

is member of Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce.
